Indiian Rupee closed at 74.65, lower by 27 paise per US dollar. Downside in domestic equities and firm greenback led to the depreciation of the Indian currency on Thursday.
Rupee extended the losses and trade ended at days low, settling at 74.65, amid selling seen in the domestic equity market on the back of new measures announced by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
It opened lower at 74.44 per dollar against previous close of 74.37 and traded in the range of 74.38-74.75.
Meanwhile, oil also trade marginally lower and at around 3.48 pm, benchmark brent crude was selling 0.23% lower at 43.70.
