Tamil Nadu State Haj Committee invites applications

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu State Haj Committee has invited applications from Muslims residing in the state who intend to perform Haj pilgrimage during Haj 2021, subject to certain terms and conditions. Kochi will be the embarkation point for the pilgrims from Tamil Nadu.
The entire process of Haj application is provisional, subject to final guidelines of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The applicants can fill in online forms until December 10 through Haj Committee of India portal, www.hajcommittee.gov.in or through Haj Committee of India mobile app.
Some features of Haj 2021 include: Age limit for pilgrimage between 18 and 65 years, children below 18 years not allowed and Haj journey will be for 30-35 days. The accommodation space will be 9sq m per pilgrim, and standardized baggage will be provided by the Haj Committee of India.
The embarkation points for Haj 2021 has been reduced from 21 to 10 due to Covid-19. They are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Srinagar. There is no provision of NRIs due to Covid-19.
