NOIDA: City residents can now get a glimpse of traditional village hospitality at Chokhi Haveli along the lines of Jaipur’s Chokhi Dhani. Set up at Noida Shilp Haat in Sector 33A and scheduled to be opened to the public from Thursday between noon and 10 pm, the decor of Chokhi Haveli is traditional Rajasthani as is the cuisine, with unlimited helpings at Rs 450 per adult and Rs 350 per child for traditional Rajasthani thali.
There will be live performances, lazer light shows, social and cultural events amid camel/horse rides and magic shows for children. The theme state will be changed shift from Rajasthan to other states later.
The village experience spread across a 2 acre area is set up by Noida Authority which has hired ITE group to operate the site. All Covid-19 SOPs including thermal screening, sanitisation, social distancing and masks will be monitored at the venue.
“Noida Authority has developed Chokhi Haveli to bring the Indian heritage and culture to the younger generation and international tourists so as to give them a glimpse of ethnic India and its village culture. While the décor is done by our operator, Chokhi Haveli is a perfect platform for experiencing rural India, tasting traditional Indian cuisine, presently Rajasthani such a Ker Sangari, Daal Bati Choorma, Kadi Chawal, and many more,” said Rajeev Tyagi general manager Noida Authority.
“The plan is to run it on a permanent basis after six months, though the structure is temporary,” said Tyagi, who adds that artwork covering UP, Punjab and Rajasthan are all procured from different cities such as Saharanpur, Punjab, Rajasthan.
