The Indian markets were trading half a per cent lower, amid mixed global cues, on Thursday, ahead of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's press conference later in the day.
A Reuters report said that the Centre is likely to unveil another stimulus package of about $20 billion this week focusing on stressed sectors, middle-income groups in urban and rural areas, and employment generation before Diwali. READ MORE

Among headline indices, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 200 points to 43,310 levels and the Nifty50 index hovered around 12,680 marks. HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, and ICICI Bank were all trading 1 per cent down. On the other hand, M&M and Titan gained 2 and 1 per cent, respectively.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was mixed, with Nifty IT index, up 1 per cent, leading the list of gainers.
