MYSURU/ BENGALURU: With the government directing varsities to start classes following a directive from the University Grants Commission, Bengaluru and Mysuur universities will soon kick off campus learning, report Lawrence Milton and Sruthy Susan Ullas.
Bangalore University has directed its affiliate colleges to resume final-year classes from next week.
RT-PCR test report is a must
Students willing to go to college must submit a letter signed by their parents. RTPCR test report is compulsory for students willing to attend physical classes.
Colleges and teachers have been directed to develop online modules like video lectures, presentations and audio books and upload them on the portals of colleges and varsities. Social networking platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp and email may be used to share learning material well in advance.
Varsity registrar R Shivappa said the government has, in an order, stated it has decided to start classes in all varsities, including private, from November 17. He said a meeting with chairpersons of PG departments, directors of PG centres and college principals was held to discuss strategies for classes beginning Tuesday. “We discussed infrastructure availability. Various suggestions came up. We will announce a detailed plan to start classes for PG and UG students,” the registrar explained.
