The Delhi High Court on Thursday expressed concern over the growing cases of COVID-19 in the national capital and questioned the AAP government for "opening up all activities".


The High Court held that the Delhi government could not be allowed to play with the stubbornness of the people and the state was responsible for the health of the citizens, for which, others including private hospitals would have to be taken along. A bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Subramanian Prasad said that the Delhi government needs to be more vigilant in view of the present situation.

The High Court was hearing a petition by the Delhi government in which it urged that in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, it should have 80 percent ICU beds in 33 private hospitals for at least 15 days for COVID-19 patients. The right to be reserved.

In the national capital, infection cases had crossed 4.59 lakh in the national capital after the highest number of 8,593 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. After the death of 85 more people, the death toll rose to 7,228. (Agency)
