Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday said that the coronavirus epidemic has proved to be a complicating factor for a world already under stress and a new balance of power is set to emerge due to the current circumstances.
Jaishankar also mentioned in a conference that in view of the situation that has emerged due to the epidemic, many countries have expanded their definition of national security and are placing greater emphasis on flexible supply chains.
Without naming anyone, the Foreign Minister said that recent events suggest that a similar mindset would frustrate multilateralism. He said that there is no doubt that we are moving towards a new balance of power and interests.
