LUCKNOW: Son of a city jeweller was allegedly shot at by unidentified car-borne miscreants near a picnic spot under Vikasnagar police station on Wednesday night.
“The victim, Abhishek Kesarwani, 41, owner of a jewellery showroom on Ring Road near Khurramnagar crossing, was going home in his car along with his wife Neha. When he reached near the Picnic Spot, attackers in a car overtook Abhishek’s car and fired at him. The bullet pierced through his chest,” said additional deputy commissioner of police, North Zone, Rajesh Srivastava.
Srivastava said that Abhishek was rushed to King George’s Medical University trauma centre where he is under treatment and out of danger.
Senior police officials visited the crime scene. Police teams have been formed to nab the attackers.
DCP north, Shalini, said that a preliminary investigation ruled out a loot bid.
One team will monitor CCTV cameras installed near the spot of crime, while another team will trace on enmity angles of the victim.
