COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 7,506, cases touch 4,20,840

Kolkata, Nov 12 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 7,506 with the death of 54
persons on Thursday, while the tally touched 4,20,840 with 3,856 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 32,185, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,81,149.
The percentage of discharged rose to 90.57 per cent.
The bulletin said the total number of samples tested stood at 50,91,700 with 44,365
tested in the past 24 hours.
While the city recorded the highest number of 2380 deaths so far, surrounding districts
of North 24 Parganas and Howrah came second and third respectively with 1739 and 791
fatalities.
South 24 Parganas accounted for 504 deaths, the toll in Hooghly stood at 359, Darjeeling
155, Paschim and Purba Midnapore 231 and 214 respectively, Malda 91, Murshidabad 105,
Nadia 189, Paschim Bardhaman 112, Purba Bardhaman 74, Jalpaiguri 105, Uttar Dinajpur 55,
Dakshin Dinajpur 54, Birbhum 62, Alipurduar 79, Kalimpong 19, Cooch Behar 57, Purulia 33,
Jhargram 13 and Bankura 82.
