Khattar announces Gurugram will be developed as 'Smart city in the country

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) In a bid to bring Global City Gurugram which is also known as Economic Capital of Haryana on the world map, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday announced that Gurugram will be developed as ‘smartest city’ in the country. For this, the Chief Minister also proposed to set up a new Municipal Corporation in Manesar and develop a new Gurugram city in this area.
The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating Project Air Care and two projects for the beautification of Gateway of Gurugram on Gurugram-Mehrauli (Delhi) road, through video conferencing here today. Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. D.S. Dhesi was also present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that Gurugram and Faridabad being the metropolitan cities of the National Capital Region, separate Metropolitan Development Authorities have already been constituted for both the cities here. Air pollution is a matter of concern for all of us in these cities and in view of this, two projects ‘Air Care' have been started today to clean the air.

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday mourned the demise of former Congress MLA Brij Lal Goyal (82). He breathed his last on Tuesday night after a brief illness at Patiala and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Haryana govt decides to impose a complete ban against sale or use of firecrackers

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UUNI) In accordance with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines, Haryana Government has decided to impose a complete ban against the sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in the districts adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) from midnight of November, 9 -10, 2020 to the midnight of November 30 to December 1, 2020. However, in other districts of Haryana, citizens can only burst crackers for two hours on Diwali, as earlier announced by the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal.
