Illegal cracker godown raided in Field Ganj

The police conducted a raid at the godown of a toy seller in 12 Kucha in Field Ganj on Tuesday. He had stored crackers worth around Rs 50 lakh in the multi-storey building situated in a residential area here. The Police Division 2 registered a case against Narinder Kumar and he was arrested.

ACP (Central) Waryam Singh said a secret information was received that the suspect in the guise of selling toys, had been selling crackers without

any licence. Even the crackers were stored in the residential area which was also not allowed as per the norms.

Waryam Singh said the crackers were seized and a case had been registered against the suspect.

The police said the suspect had stored all types of crackers in the house-cum-godown and he had been supplying the same to retailers.

Storing huge stock of crackers was dangerous and any untoward incident could occur in the residential area, said a policeman.

The police videographed the entire operation.
