Water Matters campaign is a collaborative project of the U.S. Consulate General Chennai and Care Earth Trust that explores the centrality of water in people’s lives by examining water as both an environmental necessity and a key cultural element. Now, the final component of the campaign called Museum in a Box has been launched by Care Earth.
Chennai:
“It is a very specific component for school children where we introduce them to various concepts about water. It was supposed to be a physical product. But due to the current circumstances, we have made it in a digital format. A lot of thought and effort has been put into the digital Museum in a Box. It is designed keeping in mind the needs of middle and high school students. The compilation has virtual constructs of structures and hydro-geological processes, explanatory video tutorials and guided activities as well as practical lesson plans to engage children. Interactive games, puzzles, thematic flashcards and illustrated primers have been added to the mix to strengthen observational learning,” says Seetha Gopalakrishnan, senior project associate at Care Earth.
The digital box that has bilingual content can be accessed by teachers, educators, and interested parents starting from December 1 at Care Earth Trust’s website.
