Patna, Nov 11 (UNI) Congress today alleged that administrative machinery was misused to influence the results of more than one dozen Assembly seats during counting yesterday where close contest was visible.
President of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Madan Mohan Jha told media persons that clear misuse of administration was noticed to influence results of some assembly seats during counting yesterday. Such action of the government was not tolerable in democracy, he remarked.
Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader Akhilesh Singh said that Mr Kumar was again offered Crown through back door. People were watching closely and would give befitting reply to BJP and JD(U) at appropriate moment, he added.
Mr Singh refused to make any comment on offer of senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh to Mr Kumar to join hands with Grand Alliance and give his blessings to RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav to become CM. After repeated queries, he said that he would not like to reply to a hypothetical question. It would be better if this question was asked from Mr Kumar as offer had been made to him by Mr Singh, he remarked.
Congress MLC Premchand Mishra said that administrative manipulation was engineered in 6 constituencies where party candidates were leading with narrow margins over their nearest rivals while same modus branding was also adopted in six other constituencies where RJD candidates were in winning position with narrow margins. Mandate was clearly against Chief Minister Mr Kumar as his party had contested Assembly Elections powered by 78 MLAs and their total number of MLAs got reduced to 243 in new assembly, he pointed out. On the other hand, RJD had emerged as single largest party in Assembly Elections and people extended their support to the party which was also a senior partner of Congress in electoral battle, he added.
