All contracts of Life Mission found suspicious, says ED before court

All contracts of Life Mission found suspicious, says ED before court

Kochi, Nov 11 (UNI) Enforcement Directorate has raised suspicion over all contracts

under Life Mission and out of 36 projects, tenders of 26 were given to two companies

Before issuing tender for these projects, former IAS officer M Sivasankar had handed

over the confidential details to Swapna Suresh, prime accused in gold smuggling case.

ED informed the Principal Sessions Court here that Swapna received crores of rupees

by using these details, sources said on Wednesday.

According to ED "contracts of the Life Mission project are suspicious. During interrogation

at jail, Swapna confessed that Sivasankar was also benefited with the bribery. Sivasankar

allowed Swapna to intervene in many projects including Life Mission and K-FON. There

is a big conspiracy behind the contracts".

ED has asserted that irregularities related to the Life Mission project were not centred

at the housing project alone.

It has also raised serious allegations against Sivasankar while opposing his bail plea

in the court.
