Three of family killed in UP road mishap

Basti, Nov 11 (UNI) Three members of a family were killed while two others sustained critical injuries when a car overturned into the Kuano river near the Amhat ghat in the Kotwali area here on Wednesday.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ravindra Kumar Singh here said that five people were proceeding towards Bihar from Uttarakhand in a car. However, the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle and the car fell into the Kuano river near the Amhat ghat of the Basti Kotwali area.

All five were rushed to the district hospital where the doctors declared them three dead on arrival.

The deceased have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, a resident of Mohammadpur district in Bihar's Motihari, his son Faiz Ahmed and wife Meraja Khatoon.

Critically injured Amir and Amir Iqbal are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
