Kolkata, Nov 11 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday reiterated that for the sake of democracy, administration and police of the Mamata Banerjee Government
must observe "political neutrality".
Taking to his twitter handle,Mr Dhankhar stated, "Adherence to rule of law is quintessential to survival of democracy."
"Security withdrawal @MamataOfficial to Murshidabad Zila Parishad President actuated by political demeanor is serious issue as there can be no quid pro quo for security cover," he averred.
"Such actions @WBPolice @HomeBengal indicative of deep politicized working that is unconstitutional," he said.
"Equally alarming is swift implication @WBPolice of people on account of their political stance," he added.
"Such actions by public functionaries are fraught with serious legal consequences," Mr Dhankhar observed.
"For sake of democracy administration & police @MamataOfficial must observe ‘political neutrality, '" the Governor noted.
"Those @MamataOfficial in breach to observe ‘political neutrality’ must be aware of serious consequences for such dereliction of duty," he said.
"Have flagged issue @WBPolice @HomeBengal and hope there will be amends," Mr Dhankhar mentioned.
