Tracheostomy has done successfully, Soumitra will undergo plasmapheresis tomorrow

11 Nov 2020 | 11:04 PM

Kolkata, Nov 11 (UNI) Medical condition of Soumitra Chatterjee now is more or less stable. Today in their 7.30 pm bulletin, Dr Arindam Kar from Belle Vue Clinic said, "We did the tracheostomy for him today and it was done by our ENT consultant Dr Dipankar Dutta. He did an excellent job despite all the surgical challenges, haematological issues, low platelet counts and all others. There is nothing to worry of, bleeding points are all secured and tracheostomy has been successfully done."
The ace thespian is fighting strongly despite various comorbidities. "Our next step would be doing the plasmapheresis tomorrow if everything goes well. Hopefully, the plasmapheresis might bring back the consciousness towards normalcy. More or less the other parameters are stable. There is no fever, no organ dysfunction and no hypertension. Post tracheostomy we are trying towards getting him off ventilation. But we have to go slow because he is very weak", Dr Kar added.
