New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) For the first time in 106 days, India's active Covid-19 caseload has fallen below the 5-lakh-mark as the total burden of active cases was pegged at 4,94,657 on Wednesday -- it was 4,96,988 on July 28 -- taking the Active Caseload to 5.73 per cent of the total positive cases.
While 44,281 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, 50,326 active cases have recovered in this period. This is the 39th day of daily recoveries exceeding the daily new cases.

The top 10 States and UTs reported 78 per cent of the new cases. The national capital, Delhi, however, reported the highest daily new cases at 7,830 followed by Kerala with 6,010 cases.
This declining trend of active Covid cases in the country, which brings some cheer, assumes significance amid reports of a surge in new cases worldwide.
While 27 states/UTs have less than 20,000 active cases, just eight states/UTs have more than 20,000 cases; two states -- Maharashtra and Kerala -- have active cases more than 50,000.
With 50,326 recoveries, the total recoveries have thus also risen in the corresponding period along with the difference between Total Recoveries and Total Active Cases. The Recovery Rate has increased to 92.79 per cent.
The Total Recoveries have crossed the 80 lakh mark. The number of total recoveries as on date is 80,13,783. The gap between Recovered cases and Active cases has widened to 75,19,126.
India crossed another milestone recording 12 crore cumulative tests of which 11,53,294 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours in the country.
The new daily cases continued to be less than 50,000.
Seventy-seven per cent of the new recovered cases were found concentrated in 10 states/UTs.
Maharashtra reported the maximum number of single day recoveries with 6,718 newly-recovered cases closely followed by the 6,698 figure achieved by Kerala. They are followed by 6,157 recoveries in Delhi.
Ten states/UTs accounted for 79 per cent of the Covid fatalities with 512 case fatalities being reported in the past 24 hours. Total Case Fatality Rate stood at 1.48 per cent.
Maharashtra saw the most casualties at 110. Delhi and West Bengal followed with 83 and 53 new deaths, respectively, an official release here said.
