India achieves unprecedented success in Corona war; active cases less than 5 lakh

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) India has made several unprecedented achievements in its collective fight against the global Coronavirus pandemic and for the first time after 106 days, the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has come down to below 500,000.

The Health Ministry said on Wednesday that the total active Covid cases on Wednesday stood at 4,94,657 and on July 18 this number was 4,96,988. Currently, this constituted 5.73 per cent of the total positive cases in the country. This shows that the phase of decline in Covid cases was continuing in the country and was an important sign for India especially amid the surge in new cases seen in many countries at this time. The success was mainly due to the targeted strategies that have been effectively implemented with various states/union territories and also include selfless service of medical fraternity and other Covid warriors.
