Guinness has recalled its recently launched non-alcoholic stout in Great Britain over fears of microbiological contamination in some cans.

The company said the recall only affects the non-alcoholic Guinness 0.0 drink and not its classic brand.

In a statement it said that "some cans may be unsafe to consume", urging people not to drink them and return them for a full refund.

Guinness 0.0 only launched in supermarkets and online in the UK and Ireland last month. It was due to be rolled out in pubs next year.
