- The 27-year-old will be a part of the Bafana Bafana squad in the upcoming matches against Sao Tome and Principe.
Bafana Bafana midfielder Keagan Dolly wished Pitso Mosimane well on his move to Al Ahly and revealed that the coach was always "very ambitious" during his tenure at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mosimane shocked the South African football fraternity with his resignation in September as the Brazilians mentor inked a two-year deal with the Egyptian giants.
Dolly played under Mosimane between 2015-2017 and won the CAF Champions League, the Telkom Knockout and the Premier Soccer League title during that time.
Speaking upon his arrival at the Bafana Bafana camp ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) matches against Sao Tome and Principe, Dolly says that he hopes Mosimane can win the CAF Champions League against Zamalek on Friday, 27 November.
"It's always great to see someone from South Africa, someone you've worked with in the past, going on to do greater things," Dolly told the media.
"For him, he's always been very ambitious, and you could see from his team’s performances. Even from when I was there, we always wanted to win because of the person he is.
"Just want to wish him all the best going into the final and hopefully he can win and keep on representing South Africa."
Dolly also congratulated Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe on his CAF presidency candidature.
"Like I said, it's always good to see South Africans doing great things, it'll always open doors for more South Africans.
"I believe we're a country full of talented people and I believe with people like Patrice Motsepe going for the nominations, coach Pitso going to Al Ahly it will always give hope to the other people that it's possible."
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana's first match takes place on Friday 13 November (kick-off is at 21:00) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, while the second encounter is scheduled for Monday 16 November (15:00) at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
