NEW DELHI: The BJP-led NDA won the 2020 Bihar assembly election by winning 125 seats.
The RJD-led Grand Alliance gave a tough fight to the NDA, however, failed to secure the majority mark, despite Tejashwi Yadav's party emerging as the single-largest party with 75 seats.

BJP registers best strike rate overall
The BJP was the top performer in terms of strike rate in the Bihar assembly elections, results for which were declared on early Wednesday morning, while CPI (ML)(L) was at the second spot having won over 63 per cent of the seats it contested.

All the three left parties combined had a strike rate of over 55%. They won 16 of the 29 seats.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation), which won 12 of the 19 seats it contested, had the second-best strike rate of 63.16%.

The three left parties registered an impressive performance in the Bihar assembly elections having won 14 of the 29 seats.
The three left parties — Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation), Communist Party of India (Marxist) — secured a vote share of 4.62%.
Both the CPI and CPI(M) contested four seats each. The left parties registered an impressive 50% strike rate to win two seats each.
In Phase I, the CPI(ML)(L) contested on eight seats and seven.
RJD has the highest vote shareThe vote share of the RJD was recorded at 23.03 per cent, the highest for any single party in the elections. It was followed by the BJP with 19.5 per cent, JDU and Congress got vote share of 15.4 per cent and 9.5 per cent respectively.

The BJP dominated both the Grand Alliance heavyweights — the RJD and the Congress — in seats where it was in a direct clash with them. In 33 seats where both the BJP and the Congress parties were in direct clash, the Congress won just 6 (17%) of the seats while the BJP bagged 27 (83%).

The Bihar assembly election was one of the most closely fought elections seen in recent history. There are were as many as 11 seats were the margin of victory was less than 1,0000 votes. Both the BJP and the RJD lost three seats each.
