Odisha reports 1220 new covid cases, 15  fresh deaths

Bhubaneswar, Nov11 (UNI) Odisha reported 1220 new covid cases and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the total tally to 3,05,000 with a covid toll of 1469.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said 1220 new covid infections were reported from 30 districts which included 703 from quarantine centres and 517 local contact cases.

The covid toll which dropped to less than 1000 on Tuesday after a gap of almost 110 days, today surged to 1220 with Khordha district registering 134 cases followed by Sundagarh (119) and Cuttack (96).

Barring the two districts, the rest 28 districts and state pool reported less than one hundred fresh cases.

Official sources said in the past 24 hours 15 covid patients under treatment succumbed to the virus.They included four from Balasore,three from Cuttack, two each from Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara and one each from four other districts.

So far, 50,77,119 tests were conducted in the state out of which 3,05,000 have been infected with coronavirus.

As many as 2,91,137 covid patients were cured and discharged from the hospital while 12,341 active cases are under treatment.
