Tussle among Nitish, Tejashwi, Chirag -but women mattered most

New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Notwithstanding the recently concluded three-phase Bihar Assembly elections-the first major polls in country in the Covid era-were 'centred around' the three ''major Masculines"-Nitish Kumar, Tejashwai Prasad Yadav and Chirag Paswan-it was the fairer sex who had the last laugh.
According to official records, not only this elections, women have been ''dominating" the electoral arena in the JD(U)-BJP combine ruled state for the third time in a row.
The records informed that with this elections, female voter turnout has surpassed the male for the third consecutive polls, with women at 59.5 per cent outnumbering the men at 54.6 per cent.
Informatively, as the overall turnout in this elections stands at 57 per cent, the same for the 2015 Assembly poll and the 2019 Lok Sabha poll were 56.7 per cent and 57.3 per cent respectively.
While the male voter turnout in this Assembly poll was highest since 2010,with 53.3 per cent recorded in 2015 Assembly poll and 51.1 per cent in 2010, female voter turnout in 2020 poll fell short of the 60.4 per cent record turnout of women voters in 2015.
It was significantly higher than the 54.5 per cent female voter turnout in 2010.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha poll, the 59.5 per cent overall female voter turnout in Bihar was again higher than the 54.9 per cent male polling percentage.
