BJD wins Balasore Assembly seat and all set to win Tirtol by a huge margin

Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 (UNI) The ruling BJD today won the Balasore Sadar and the
Tirtol (SC) Assembly seats also by defeating their nearest rival BJP candidates in
the by-election.
The BJD wrested the Balasore seat and all set to retain the Tirtol seat.The Congress
party fared miserably and relegated to the third position in both Balasore and Tirtol.
In Balasore the BJD candidate Swarup Das won the seat by defeating his nearest
rival Manas Kumar Dutta by a margin of 13,395 votes.
Though the Election Commission has not yet announced the result but the data
available on the official website said BJD’s Swarup Das secured 82,810 votes
against 69,415 votes polled by his nearest rival Manas Kumar Dutta of BJP.
Mr Dutta is the son of former BJP MLA late Madan Mohan Dutta whose demise
led to the bypoll.
Ms Mamata Kundu of Congress has secured only 4,901 votes.and finished in third
position. Total 6 candidates including 3 independents were in fray in the by election for
the Balasore Sadar constituency .
In Tirtol, Bijay Shankar Das of BJD is leading by 40,697 votes over his nearest rival
Raj Kishore Behera of BJP in the by election after 29 round of counting and is all set to
win.
While Bijay Shankar Das (BJD) polled 86797 votes, Raj Kishore Behera secured 46,100
votes after 29th round of counting,
Mr Himanshu Mallick of Congress finished a poor third securing only 28,357 votes.
As many as nine candidates including five Independents were in the fray for the Tirtol
Assembly seat.

Ngamthang Haokip of BJP wins Saitu

Imphal, Nov 10 (UNI) Ngamthang Haokip of BJP has won the Saitu Assembly bypoll
defeating his nearest rival Lamtinthang Haokip of INC by a margin of 12144 votes.
