Now, place bets online at Mysore Race Club

Mysuru: Mysore Race Club will conduct betting for horse racing through online platform instead of the existing practice of manual betting at the race course in view of pandemic restrictions.
The club management has taken permission from the state government for online betting.
Speaking after launching the online betting portal at Mysuru Race Club on Monday, MRC chairman N Nithyananda Rao said the winter season race will commence from November 11.
“The coronaviruCovid-induced lockdown has badly affected horse racing business in the country. The sport was suspended for the past eight months due to the pandemic. The racing fraternity were disappointed over the development. So, we have taken permission for online betting for the horse race,” Rao said.
Enthusiasts can now place bets online through www.betmysore.com and www.turfwinners.com portals for the winter race games.
“The portals are easy and simple to use, and the public can participate in the race betting by enrolling their names and other details. In the first phase of roll-out, only the residents of Karnataka are allowed to participate in the betting,” Rao added.
The winter season races will commence from November 11 which will be held for six days. The races have been scheduled on November 11, 18 and 25 and December 2, 9 and 16. The sports enthusiasts who want to participate in the betting can watch the race live.
Rao said the Mysore Race Club has suffered a loss of around Rs 3.5 crore due to lockdown. “The state government has renewed the license for the club and last year, the club has paid Rs 52 lakh in tax,” he said.
