HDFC soars near 4% on reducing Retail Prime Lending Rate on housing loans

HDFC said, "The change will benefit all existing HDFC retail home loan customers."

NBFC-major HDFC was in focus on Tuesday after the financial service provider trimmed Retail Prime Lending Rate (RPLR) on Housing loans ahead of Diwali festive season. The move is expected to benefit home loan borrowers.

At around 11.11 AM, HDFC stock was trading at Rs2226.25 per piece surging by Rs75.30 or 3.50%.

The stock has advanced to an intraday high of Rs2234 per piece on Sensex.

In its regulatory filing, HDFC reduced its Retail Prime Lending Rate (RPLR) on Housing loans, on which its Adjustable Rate Home Loans (ARHL) are benchmarked, by 10 basis points.

HDFC said, "The change will benefit all existing HDFC retail home loan customers."

The new rates in effect from November 10, 2020 (Tuesday) onward.
