During the Bihar Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar used a word repeatedly. The word was 'Jungleraj'. PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar kept talking about returning to Jungle Raj in Bihar after the victory of the Grand Alliance. In such a situation, a question arises again, and again, where did this word come from and why was this word used in Bihar?
Who used the word jungle raj for the first time?
In Bihar, the word Jungleraj has been used thousands of times now. People know why the word Jungleraj became synonymous with Bihar, but the question is still in their mind that when was the word Jungleraj first used? In fact, the Patna High Court was hearing a petition on 5 August 1997. At that time, a petition of social activist Krishna Sahai was presented before the bench of Justice Justice VP Anand and Justice Dharampal Sinha, in which he referred to the situation in Bihar. At that time the Patna High Court had said, 'There is no government in Bihar. Corrupt officers are running the state here and Jungle Raj has been established in Bihar. In fact, the term Jangraj was first used for Bihar by the Patna High Court, after which the word became common and became a political practice for Lalu-Rabri Raj.
Because of this Jungle, Raj came to Bihar
Juraj's memories are still alive in the minds of the old people of Bihar. Actually, the Lalu family ruled in Bihar for a total of 15 years from 1990 to 2005. During that time the state was dominated by crime. In Bihar crime like kidnapping got the status of an industry. It is said that seeking ransom after kidnapping became popular in Bihar. Many times innocent people were killed even after getting the ransom. The murders took place daily and blood flowed like water on the streets of the state. Theft and robbery had become very common in Bihar.
'Sahib-Biwi Aur Gangster' era
The rule of the Lalu family for 15 years in Bihar is also known as 'Sahab-Biwi Aur Gangster'. In fact, the rise of Lalu Prasad Yadav began after the death of veteran leader Karpoori Thakur in Bihar. Along with this, the graph of crime in Bihar also increased very fast. It is alleged that during this time, the dreaded activities in the state increased immensely and all this was done at the behest of Sadhu Yadav and Subhash Yadav during Lalu's years. Meanwhile, corruption in the state also increased significantly. In the fodder scam, Lalu had to leave the throne and he made his wife Rabri Devi the chief minister. A statement given by Rabri after becoming CM remains in discussion till date. Actually, during that time Rabri Devi had said, 'Sahib wished if we are the Chief Minister. Just like they used to run home till now, they will now run the state.
