The result for the Uttar Pradesh bypolls will be announced on Tuesday. The counting of votes has begun across seven assembly seats --Naugaon Sadat, Tundla, Bangarmau, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Ghatampur and Malhani. An average of over 53 per cent voters had exercised their franchise to decide the fate of 88 candidates in the fray. Voting in the bypolls was held on November 3.
The fight is between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP). Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad's Azad Samaj Party has also fielded its candidate, Mohammad Yameen, in Bulandshahr to test its electoral popularity.

As per the India Today-Axis My India exit poll for Uttar Pradesh bypolls, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is expected to get 5-6 seats out of the total seven seats being contested. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party is expected to get 1-2 seats and Bahujan Samaj Party may get 0-1 seats.
If these estimates hold true, the BJP's vote share in Uttar Pradesh stands strong at 37 per cent. At the same time, Congress' vote share in UP is an estimated 8 per cent, while the SP retained its 27 per cent vote share, the BSP also managed to hold on to its 20 per cent vote share.
Naugaon Sadat seat fell vacant after the death of state Cabinet minister and former cricketer Chetan Chauhan. Ghatampur bypolls in Kanpur Nagar district was necessitated due to the death of state minister Kamal Rani Varun. Both ministers had died of COVID-19. Tundla seat fell vacant after its MLA S P Singh Baghel was elected to Lok Sabha, while the Bangarmau seat in Unnao fell vacant after the conviction of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in a rape case.
