The due elections of ADC in May this year had been deferred for six months due to Covid but recently there is a move to extend the tenure.Besides, CPI-M, all other oppositions seeking immediate election to ADC but ruling party dragging it without any valid ground, alleged Das adding that a former chief secretary of the state was appointed as an administrator whose tenure would over by next week but it was dramatically extended.“The ADC is a constitutional institution and it needs to be run by a democratically elected body. If elections of broader space like America, Bihar and by-elections to several other assembly and Loksabha seats can be conducted despite the pandemic, elections of ADC should also be conducted in time” Das said.He had also alleged that the ruling BJP was sponsoring insurgent elements which were regaining power in the last few months in some locations of Gandacherra and Amarpur.UNI BB RNTags: #Tripura CPM demands immediate election to ADC
