NEW DELHI: Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court challenging Bombay high court's order refusing him interim bail in the 2018 abetment to suicide case of Anvay Naik.
The Bombay HC had on Monday denied interim relief to Goswami and observed that the ongoing investigation into the suicide of Naik "cannot be termed illegal".
The court, however, said that Arnab has the liberty to seek regular bail from sessions court under criminal law provisions. Goswami had applied for bail at the Alibaug sessions court the same day.
The case relates to the 2018 suicide of architect-interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018 over alleged non-payment of dues by companies of the accused.
Arnab Goswami and two others — Feroze Shaikh and Neetish Sarda — were arrested by Alibaug police on November 4 in connection with the case.
