Five tremors in single day in Palghar

Palghar, Nov 9 (UNI) The district was rocked by five tremors in a single day on Monday.

The first tremor of 3.4 on the Richter scale was felt early this morning at 0531 hours, second of 2.4 on the Richter scale
at 1343 hrs, third of 2.8 on the Richter scale at 1440 hrs, fourth of 3.4 on the Richter scale in late afternoon at 1617 hrs
and fifth of 3.1 on the Richter scale at night at 2119 hrs, an officer at the District Disaster Control Cell said.
All these earthquakes have been recorded in villages of Talasari taluka, however, there were no injuries or damage to
the property, he said.

The district has been experiencing tremors of varying intensities since November 2018 and initially, there were numerous tremors concentrated at Dundalwadi village of Dahanu taluka. Since then hundreds of tremors of different scales were experienced in the district.

About a month ago the district had experienced a couple of tremors, until the latest ones felt today.
