Melania Trump has reportedly not extended an invitation to meet with Dr. Jill Biden and has echoed her husband’s sentiments about transparency in the election
President Donald Trump has made headlines due to his unwillingness to graciously concede the election to projected winner Joe Biden. Now it appears his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, is following in her husband’s footsteps by reportedly refusing to meet with Dr. Jill Biden.
According to the reports, not only has FLOTUS refused to congratulate the soon-to-be new first lady or set up a meeting – a customary pleasantry that was extended to her by Michelle Obama – she is also posting messages on social media that seem to echo her husband’s sentiments that he was cheated during the election.
“The American people deserve fair elections. Every legal – not illegal – vote should be counted,” she recently tweeted. “We must protect our democracy with complete transparency.”

Despite the seeming snub, Dr. Biden appears to be nonplussed and is said to be assembling her staff as she prepares to set the agenda for the East Wing, which includes causes that speak to her and the president elect’s hearts such as education, veterans and cancer.
“Dr Biden is enormously grateful to the country for electing her husband and Senator Harris,” her spokesman Michael LaRosa told the Daily Mail. “Joe Biden will be a President for all Americans. She is spending time with her children and grandchildren in Wilmington, Delaware.”
Jill Biden, the next first lady of the USA, has spent decades working as a teacher. She has a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, and a doctorate of education.

Dr. Biden is expected to follow in the footsteps of Mrs. Obama and former President George W. Bush‘s wife Laura who each had 25 staff at any one time working for them to champion initiatives that spoke to their personal passions. In stark comparison, during her tenure, Melania’s White House staff unusually only employed approximately 10 at a time, with the only high profile initiative being her “Be Best” campaign.
It is a tradition for the out-going president and first lady to call their replacements right after an election. Only time will tell if the Trump’s will ultimately take that step.
