Transport minister Suvendu Adhikari & several TMC ministers organise Nandigam Diwas separately

Nandigram, Nov 10 (UNI) As the ministers, politicians and common people keenly
watching the development of neighbouring Bihar, the fissure in the ruling Trinamool
Congress is apparently widening.
The "Nandigram Diwas", which gave the Trinamool Congress a huge political issue
to defeat CPI(M) led Left Front in 2011, was today observed separately by state
transport minister Suvendu Adhikari under the banner of BUPC, and a group of
ministers headed by Mamata Banerjee's cabinet No 2 Firhad Hakim.
Mr Adhikari, who holds the state transport ministry and conspicuously abstaining from
the cabinet meetings and TMC meetings for past few months, today observed the 13th
Nandigram Diwas under the banner of Bhumi Uchhed Pratirodh Committee (BUPC) and
said he never used this platform for political gain.
The minister also said he would never use the BUPC platform for "political interests".
"The Nandigram movement was a people's movement. It was not of any particular
individual. I have been with the people of Nandigram. Now After 13 years, a few people
are now coming here as the elections are approaching."
He said the Nandigram movement was a people's movement and spontaneous.
" I have been with the people of Nandigram for the past 17 years since 2003 but now
I find a few people are now coming here as the elections are approaching.".
" I would not spell any of my political programmes from this platform ( Nandigram diwas)
because the land protection movement was spontaneous and it was people's movement to
save the land in the 2000s."
Incidentally, there was no banner of TMC, neither any TMC flag or even the cut out of the
TMC supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the meeting in which Adhikari was the
main speaker.
In a separate programme organised by the ruling TMC, state urban development and
municipal affairs minister Firhad Hakim without naming Suvendu Adhikari, said who said
that he ( Firhad) had not come to Nandigram in past 13 years.
" I came here, also came Partha Chatterjee, Subrata Bukshi, Purnendu Bose and Dola
Sen and others," said Mr Hakim while addressing the gathering.
" Here I came several times and supported the Nandigra movement and this movement
gave the TMC a huge rise to the power and the downfall of the CPI(M). And Mamata
Banejree was the main leader of Nandigram movement and nobody can deny the
contribution of Mamata Banerjee in the movement here. And I warned to those who are
thinking trying to put BJP into the strong foundation in the state are living in the fools world."
added Mr Hakim.
