Be vigilant in festive season, officials told

In view of Diwali, MC chief Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal conducted a meeting with officials of the Health Branch, the Fire Brigade and other branches. He directed the Health Department officials to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the city.

Sabharwal directed the officials concerned to ensure that garbage was being collected by the firm concerned in the city on priority basis. All the zonal commissioners were directed to visit the field daily and check the cleaning work at least four points and send a daily report and ensure 100 per cent attendance of the employees.

Directions for Fire Brigade staff

The commissioner has given directions to the fire brigade officials remain vigilant during the festive season. At the same time, he appealed to the people to remove the dry wood, clothes, oil or any flammable substance on the roof of their house or property and such substances should be kept in a safe place to avoid any fire incident.

In addition, if fire breaks out in any narrow area, an informant should be deployed in open at nearby main square or outside street of the area so that the fire brigade vehicle can reach the spot, he said. — TNS
