‘Hussainiwala-Lahore border be opened’

Ferozepur, November 8

Raising the demand for reopening the Hussainiwala-Lahore border which was closed after the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has anounced “Border Khulwao, Kisan Bachao” rally on November 10.

SAD (A) district president Gurcharan Singh Bhullar said the reopening of the border was the last hope for the revival of economy of the Malwa region and to boost the financial prospects of the farmers. “The opening of the border will also revive the tourism in the state. The businessmen, including transporters and hoteliers, will also get the benefit,” said Bhullar.
