Haryana CM revokes ban on crackers

Chandigarh, Nov 9 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has revoked ban on crackers by providing a relaxation of two hours to the masses to burst crackers on Diwali eve.
He said that Diwali is a festival of happiness and everyone celebrates this festival in their own unique way. People express their happiness by bursting crackers. It has been a tradition of Indian festivals.
This year a ban was imposed to burst firecrackers due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chief Minister said that the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) have given permission to burst crackers for a limited time period due to increasing pollution in Delhi. He said that it is our collective responsibility to maintain ecological balance. We have to keep this in mind while celebrating festivals and other occasions like Diwali, he added.
