MUMBAI: As many as 50 staffers from BEST are now undergoing treatment at hospital as 95 % of Covid-19 patients have recovered till Monday, informed BEST chief medical officer
Dr Anil Kumar Singal.
"We have a total 2,740 cases which includes 50 deaths. Also, 40 staffers are undergoing treatment with home quarantine while 2600 have recovered or been discharged from hospitals. This leaves 50 patients now undergoing treatment at the hospital," he said.
Latest statistics charts released by BEST showed that it had "34 of its staffers who had to undergo hospitalisation for one to over three months during the
Covid-19 pandemic." While one patient was hospitalised for the maximum period of 95 days, there were five cases of staffers being in hospital for 60 to 90 days, and 28 cases for 30 to 60 days in hospital.
Singal further said : "We had 92 staffers who were not on duty, but when we learnt that they had got the infection, our
Covid response team rushed to their rescue. Irrespective of whether they had got the infection while on duty or not, we arranged for their hospital beds and also made available all facilities and life-saving injections to ensure they are safe."
