Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Nov 9 (UNI) The BJP on Monday named Shirish Boralkar as the party nominee for the Marathwada Graduate constituency, which along with four other reserved seats will be up for the MLC polls scheduled on December 1.
Despite being defeated by NCP's Satish Chavan in the 2014 election, the saffron party has once again fielded Boralkar, a close confidante of Devendra Fadnavis, from the mentioned seat.
The decision was taken after the state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil's visit here so as to gauge the ground realities. However, the announcement has not gone down well with some who were expecting Pravin Ghuge's name as the contender.
Mr Boralkar has now joined the list of other party contestants, including Sangram Deshmukh--Pune, Sandeep Joshi--Nagpur and Nitin Ramdas Dhande--Amravati.
