Odisha Congress  launches Tractor rally  to oppose  farm laws

Bhubaneswar, Nov 9 (UNI) Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee today launched a tractor

rally from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack demanding withdrawal of three farm laws passed by

Parliament recently.

The rally christened as ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ was started this morning from Congress

Bhawan in Bhubaneswar to the Party office in Cuttack.

Odisha A Chellakumar led the rally attended by several senior leaders like Narasingha

Mishra, Suresh Chandra Routray, Tara Prasad Bahinipati Ramachandra Khuntia,

Saptagiri Ulaks.

For a brief period the Congress activists sat on a dharna near Gopalpur after Police

prevented them to proceed to Cuttack. However, later the party activists went to Cuttack.

Speaking on the occasion OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik said the government has

no concern for the farmers and passed the bills ignoring the interest of the farmers and

workers

If the government has any concern for the farmers then it should fix the MSP of paddy

per quintal at Rs2500 on the lines of Chhattisgarh and make provision to punish those

who would procure paddy at a price less than the MSP, Mr Patnaik said.
