MSRTC employee commits suicide ; mentions 'low salary, Thackeray govt' as reasons

Jalgaon, Nov 9 (UNI) A 30-year-old employee of the state-run MSRTC bus service allegedly committed suicide here on Monday and held low salary as well as the CM Uddhav Thackeray-led government as the causes for taking the extreme step.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Anil Chaudhary, who lived in the Kusumba village.
The incident was reported this morning when Manoj's brother went to wake him up and found his body hanging in the room. He was rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, stated police.
Next to the body, a suicide note of 7-8 lines was found, which reads, "I am committing suicide as I am fed up with the low salary and irregularities in the ST Corporation."
"Responsible for this are the working methods of ST Corporation and the Thackeray government of our Marathi people. My family is not responsible for my suicide," the note mentioned.
The deceased also appealed in the end lines for giving the PF and other dues to his family. A case of sudden death has been filed with the MIDC police station.
Owing to the COVID-19 and subsequent lockdown, the MSRTC is grappling with constantly dipping revenues hence failing to pay salaries on time.
After this incident, State Transport Minister Anil Parab has promised to clear the backlog payments before Diwali.
