New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday said the new agriculture and farmer reform laws are proving to be prominent steps in bringing positive changes in the lives of ryots.
In a statement released here, the Minister said that through a decision taken by an SDM from Madhya Pradesh under the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020, the peasants have received the full amount that was due to them.
This was just one example, as the new laws were surely going to bring revolutionary changes in agriculture reforms and for the protection of their interests.
He said it was the result of PM's forward thinking, that these laws have come in place, in view of fetching the right amount for the produce to the farmers, increasing the farmers' income, and to improve and upgrade their standard of living, while keeping in mind the protection of their interests.
One of the important aims of these laws was to provide the farmer with a freedom to sell the produce outside the local markets of his choice and other platforms in a simplified manner.
After this law came into effect, the SDM of Badwani MP made sure that a farmer received complete payment of the produce of corn from the trader, whom he had sold his produce to.
The SDM had issued directions to the concerned traders under the new laws, which made the ryots receive complete payment of their produce.
The new rules under the Bills were especially made for addressing and resolving farmer-related disputes.
When some disputes cannot be resolved among the farmers themselves, then they can approach the SDM, who will resolve the same under the given timeline.
