Kanpur: An unidentified middle-aged woman and a teenage girl were allegedly run over by a train near Kachaura bridge on Delhi-Howrah route in Jaswant Nagar area of Etawah district on Sunday.
Police said the bodies of the woman, who was around 45 years old, and a girl aged 17 were found on the Delhi-Howrah route near Kachaura bridge. “The two were run over by North East Express heading to Delhi. However, it is not clear if it’s a case of suicide or accident,” said police.
The bodies were badly mutilated. The girl is believed to be the woman’s daughter. “The woman was wearing a sari and the girl a salwar suit. They have not been identified as yet. A case of accidental death has been registered. We are looking into missing complaints,” said inspector Ramesh Singh.
