Padma Lakshmi is overjoyed to welcome US Vice President Kamala Harris, expresses what it means to her with pictures of both families

'The importance of having someone in the White House who looks like you cannot be overstated,' wrote Padma Lakshmi as she expressed her joy over newly elected US Vice President, Kamala Harris. Taking to her social media handle, Padma shared a series of pictures making a comparison between Harris and her own family. Talking about how overjoyed she is to welcome the new Vice President, Padma wrote that Kamala's grandparents lived around the corner from her own in Chennai. She added that they both are raised by single mothers who came to the US looking for an opportunity and practiced medicine. Adding that though she never met back then, she has tears in her eyes today while seeing all the old pictures of their families.
