Lal Krishna Advani now 93 years old, PM Modi wished him birthday

Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has turned 93 today. He was born on 8 November in a Sindhi family in Karachi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes him a happy birthday. Advani's family came to India after the partition and settled in Mumbai.

PM Modi said in a tweet, "Happy Birthday to Shri LK Advani Ji, who has played an important role in the development of the country with reaching the people." He is a direct inspiration to millions of party workers as well as countrymen. I pray for his long life and healthy life.

Let us tell you that Lal Krishna Advani, the senior BJP leader and the seventh Deputy Prime Minister of the country, was born on 8 November 1927 in Karachi, Pakistan, into a Hindu Sindhi family. His father's name is Kishanchand Advani and his mother's name is Giani Devi. His father was an entrepreneur by profession.

He received his early education from St. Patrick's High School in Karachi. He then enrolled in DG National School, Hyderabad, Sindh. At the time of Partition, his family left Pakistan and settled in Mumbai. Here he studied law at Law College of Bombay University. His wife's name is Kamla Advani. His son's name is Jayant Advani and his daughter's name is Pratibha Advani.

Lal Krishna Advani held the post of the seventh Deputy Prime Minister of India in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government between 2002 and 2004. Prior to this, he was the Home Minister in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) between 1998 and 2004.

He is among those who laid the foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He played the role of Leader of the Opposition during the 10th and 14th Lok Sabha. He started his political career through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In 2015, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second major civilian honor.
