Arnab moved to Taloja Jail;Somaiya meets prison authorities asking them to keep him well

Thane, Nov 8 (UNI) Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, who was arrested on Nov 4 along with two others in a 2018 abetment to suicide case, was on Sunday shifted to the Taloja Jail, informed Raigadh DSP Ashok Dudhe.

The shifting decision was taken by the jail authorities, he added.

After a local court remanded the trio into Judicial Custody, they were lodged in the makeshift jail in the coastal Alibag town. On November 9, the court will hear the petition filed by the police, challenging the JC of the accused.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya visited the Taloja jail and asked the jailor to take care of the news anchor.

Tweeting about the same, he said, "I met Jailer Kurlekar at Taloja Jail, insisted proper care and protection of Arnab Goswami. Jailer assured me, no harrassment will take place in Jail. Required medical treatment will also be provided."

The jailor has responded in affirmative to the request, former MP Somaiya told mediapersons.
