Education Minister assures to consult at MLAs to implement NEP

Imphal, Nov 8 (UNI) Education Minister S. Rajen Singh today said
that the state government has decided to constitute a Task Force for
the successful implementation of National Education Policy.
MLAs will also be empowered and consulted during the campaign.
He was speaking as Chief Guest at the Reception Ceremony organized by the
teaching and non-teaching staff of Prabhabati College, Mayang Imphal.
He said that the central Government has been focusing on developing
and improving the education sector. As a new initiative in this
regard, the government has introduced a National Education Policy. For
the successful implementation of the policy, the cooperation of the
intellectuals and other professionals is quite required, he added.
He said all humans should plan for the future generation. Giving
proper education to all children is a step forward to achieve our
desired objectives. There have been changes in the trends of education
during the past few years. The Government schools have been degrading
during the recent past. It may be due to ignorance of the service
provided and lack of dedication and sincerity by the service
providers.
The Minister further stated that most of the guardians prefer to send
their children to Private schools even if the government assures free
education to the students in government schools. There are some
loopholes in the part of the administration which need to be corrected
at the earliest. The government is providing free meals to school-going
children apart from providing study materials including books,
notebooks, pen, pencil etc. Some stringent steps need to be taken up
to make the un-performing staff and officials of the department as a
warning of making alert in this regard, the minister added.
K. Robindro Singh, Dy Speaker said that the sincere service of the
teaching and non-teaching staffs of the Pravabati College is required
to give better education to the students. For improving the
infrastructure and other facilities of the college, the concerned
authority will be approached he said. He also sought people’s
cooperation to develop the college to a better level.
