The Bombay High Court has quashed the order of five lakh rupees imposed on TV Today Network for alleged misappropriation of viewership. The order was broadcast by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) on TV Today.
On 5 November, a bench of Justices Nitin Jamdar and Justice Milind Jadhav quashed the BARC Disciplinary Council order issued on 31 July. It was previously told to the court by Bark's lawyer that the council was ready to hear the company again.
The court allowed the petitioner to withdraw Rs five lakh deposited in the registry of the court. The petitioner was issued a show-cause notice on April 27 after Bark's measurement science team showed an unusual increase in viewership in the data available. The company was fined for not receiving satisfactory answers.
