Peddapalli: National Thermal Power Corporation-Ramagundam in association with Prerana Welfare Society launched online classes for 120 students of government high schools in the area on Sunday.
Aimed at achieving academic excellence, the group has been aptly named as “Achievers-120”.
Chief General Manager (Ramagundam and Telangana projects), Sunil Kumar virtually inaugurated the online classes for 120 students of government high school.
Speaking on the occasion, he reiterated NTPC’s commitment for promotion of education. Underlining the significance of education, he said “Vidya Dadati Vinayam, Vinaya Dadati Paatrataam, Paatratva Dhanamaapnoti, Dhanaat Dharmam Tatah Sukham” (education makes one humble, humility makes one capable, capacity allows one to make money, money brings happiness).
CGM enquired about the process, offline and online content facilities, provision of faculties and infrastructure. He also appreciated the employee volunteers of Prerana for this great initiative.
Echoing a similar view, General Manager (O and M) AK Samaiyar, GM (Project) Prasenjit Pal, GM (TS) PK Laad appreciated the initiative and asked to have quality and engaging content with the objective of igniting the young minds.
Amidst Corona pandemic while students are facing the challenge of completing as well as understanding the courses, these well-planned digital classes will help achieve academic excellence.
Initiated by few motivated NTPC employees in association with NTPC CSR-CD, the Prerana committed for academic growth of local students.
Towards this objective, 120 students of Class X identified from 30 Zilla Parishad High Schools of Ramagundam, Antergaon, Kamanpur and Palakurti mandals. Each student was given an old desk top. Students will get both offline and online support.
While Prerana has identified a pool of committed teachers to take online classes, the desktop will be preloaded with supplementary video content.
CSR officials including AGM-CSR Rafiqul Islam and Prerana office bearers and members were present on the occasion.
