Places of worship to open soon in M'rashtra: CM

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) Places of worship in Maharashtra will open soon, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced here on Sunday and said the standard operating procedure for avoiding crowds and ensuring physical distancing there will be drafted after Diwali festival.

He further said that the schools which are also closed since March would re-open for Classes 9 to 12 after Diwali as well, with all precautionary measures.

Mr Thackeray said he is getting flak for going slow on re-opening of places of worship.

"We are being careful in not re-opening temples as people will queue up. I am delaying re-opening of temples to curb the spread of coronavirus. I am ready to face criticism and those critics will not come forward to take responsibility if virus infection increases," he added.
